BTW stands for Burgers, Tacos, and Whiskey. It sounds like an odd combination at first, but it makes sense when you sit down. Created by the 50 Eggs Team (Khong River, Lime, Yard Bird, and Swine), this quaint restaurant took over the old Lime location on Alton. We love that they have delicious food and an outdoor patio with a cozy bar on the inside
The Eats: It can't get any better, burgers, tacos and whiskey!
Nachos- We love nachos and could eat them every day. Some weeks, we do ;) I could eat nachos every day. Make sure you share them with someone because it's a big portion. Next time, we are getting chorizo on top.
Flats- A totally unique delicious version of chicken wings with cilantro, rock shrimp butter, serrano peppers, and lime.
Blat Burger- Classic burger with bacon and avocado. Great flavor with juicy meat!
Chicago Burger- If you want something different definitely go with this burger with provolone cheese and chorizo...yummy!
Pescado Tacos- (Renee's favorite thing in the menu)- So crunchy and full of flavor! We saw a few people getting a salad with the fish on top and that look delicious as well.
Brisket Barbacoa Tacos (Liz's favorite thing on the menu)- The meat is so fantastic it makes me want an entire BBQ menu! It comes with guacamole, green salsa, and cotija cheese.
The Drinks: The cocktails at this place are not to be missed. There is a wide selection of whiskey and a full bar. You can't leave this place without trying the the Spicy Serrano-Rita! Every Mexican place should have a Watermelon Margarita.
The Environment: The staff is super friendly. The managers (or the hot, friendly men in flannels that greeted us) were really personable and accommodating. Bring your dog but don't bother coming with a large group. While there are a few areas where you can push together tables, this is a better spot for smaller parties. The actual interior is quite tiny. The outdoor patio has a rustic-chic feel. It's shady, with air plants surrounding you. We love eating lunch in the sun (away from the Lincoln Road madness) but we could do without the heavy metal music.
The Damage: The drinks are on the pricey side (but they are high-quality, so they should be) but the food is priced well. The portions are decent and the ingredients are top quality. You can tell that every type of protein is handled with care.
